The "Bird Guy"
Hi, I’m Andy - the guide and owner behind The “Bird Guy” Tours. I started these walks with one simple goal: to make birding feel welcoming, relaxed, and genuinely fun for anyone curious about the natural world. You don’t need experience, fancy gear, or a long species list. Just a bit of curiosity and a willingness to slow down.
How I guide
-
Comfort first - Routes and pacing are chosen with a wide range of mobility and energy levels in mind.
-
Conversation over lectures - We learn together by noticing behavior, habitat, and the small details that make each bird unique.
-
Beginner‑friendly by design - Questions are encouraged, and there’s never any pressure to “know things” ahead of time.
What I love about this work
Birding changes how people see the world. Watching someone spot their first warbler, hear an owl call, or suddenly recognize a bird they’ve walked past for years - that’s the magic. Every walk is a chance to share that moment with someone new.
What you can expect from me - A calm, supportive atmosphere; a pace that lets you actually enjoy the experience; and a guide who’s more interested in helping you connect with nature than rushing through a checklist.
Come experience my passion for birds — it’s likely to be an experience you’ll never forget.
