About the event

Join Andrew “The Bird Guy” Dapkins for a community bird walk on the Appalachian Trail, beginning at the historic Scott Farm trailhead. This route offers an ideal vantage point for documenting the forest, farmland edges, and migratory corridor that would be affected by the Middlesex Data Center.

We will continue north toward the Sherwood Drive parking area and the nearby Amish food stand, a stretch of trail that provides excellent opportunities to observe species that rely on mixed habitat zones.

During the walk, participants will learn:

  • How to create and submit an eBird checklist

  • How to identify birds by sight and sound

  • How eBird data supports conservation and community science
