About the event
About the Event
The Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) is a global community‑science project where birdwatchers of all experience levels count birds and submit their sightings to help track population trends. This kickoff event introduces participants to the GBBC process, local winter birds, and simple techniques for identifying species commonly found in Carlisle parks and neighborhoods.
We’ll begin with a short indoor orientation, followed by a short, guided walk around the facility to practice spotting and counting birds. This program is designed for families, beginners, and anyone curious about contributing to conservation science.
